Because bacteria in your products are way more dangerous than preservatives.
We use the minimum amount of safer preservatives (less than 1% total). Without them, products would grow mold and bacteria within days of opening.
It's the only silicone we use, and here's why: it makes detangling easier!
Amodimethicone is different from old-school silicones. It only deposits on damaged parts of hair (where the cuticle is raised), not healthy sections. It washes out completely with gentle surfactants. And most importantly, it prevents the pulling, tugging, and tears that make hair washing a battlefield.
In our Shampoo, Conditioner, and Body Wash:
The fragrance is entirely from our five citrus extracts: grapefruit, bergamot, lemon, lime, and orange. This creates a lighter, fresher scent that won't compete with other products or trigger sensitivities.
In our Detangler:
We combine the same citrus extracts mentioned above with small amounts of citronella (0.1-0.2%) and rosemary (0.05-0.1%) essential oils.
We chose this approach because citrus extracts are generally less sensitizing than concentrated essential oils, while still providing authentic scent. The result is subtle but recognizable clean without being overwhelming.
Beyond the standard safety testing everyone does (or should do):
- Heavy metals screening (because contamination happens)
- pH testing on every batch (not just once)
- Microbial and contamination testing on every batch
- 6-week HRIPT patch testing on humans
None. Zero. Nada.
But honestly, this is table stakes in 2026. Every kids' brand excludes these now. What matters more is what we DO include and why. We focus on ingredients that actively benefit kids' developing skin and hair, not just avoiding a blacklist.
Yes, and here's what that means:

Start with our full INCI lists above, every ingredient is listed with its function. Our products are:
